Naming Conventions & User IDs

The proper naming convention for creating a user is the first initial of the first name__ + last name + last four digits of Social Security number. If that ID is already in use, you will see a warning alert that states the ID is already in the system. In order to have the learner in your organization so you can assign training and run reports with that learner you will need to create a user profile with an alternate ID.

  • 1st alternate ID: 1234jdoe Last 4 of social + first initial first name + entire last name If you receive a duplicate message, go to the 2nd alternate

  • 2nd alternate ID: j1234doe First initial first name + last four of social + entire last name If you receive a duplicate message, go to the 3rd alternate

  • 3rd alternate ID: john1234doe First name + last 4 SSN + last name If you receive a duplicate message, go to the 4th alternate

  • 4th alternate ID: johndoe1234 First name + last name + last four of social security number If you receive a duplicate message, contact the HelpDesk

When new employees are entered in Relias, try the approved alternate ID naming conventions **in the order listed above**. If you try all four and still get an error message, contact the [email protected] HelpDesk for assistance.

If an ID is entered incorrectly and saved, contact the HelpDesk for assistance. The Global Administrators can correct the ID. Do Not Create another profile for the staff. Learners should only have one profile per agency.
